“Outta My Head”

(Performed on NBC’s TODAY Show)

Uptempo modern rock.

Dark, sleek, tension building.

A spiraling obsession.

Lyrics

Can’t get you outta my head
Your white lies painted red
No, I try to lie still,
But your kiss is a pill
And I, oh I
Can’t get you outta my head
Can’t get you outta my head

I can’t understand
This was never what I planned
And I, oh I
Can’t get you outta my head

Won’t let you outta my sight
It’s not wrong, but It sure as hell ain’t right
If this is the finish line, I’m checkered
If you’re single I’m the record
And I, oh I
Won’t let you outta my sight
Won’t let you outta my sight

I can’t understand
This was never what I planned
My sight, and my soul
I can’t ever let you go
But I, oh I
Can’t get you outta my head
Can’t get you outta my head

You slip right under my skin
It’s over, it’s over
Before it begins
You’re perfection wearing thin,
You’re the tonic to my gin
And over and over again...

I can’t understand
This was never what I planned
My sight, and my soul
I can’t ever let you go
You're under my skin
There's no telling where you've been
But I, oh I
I can’t understand
This was never what I planned
My sight, and my soul
I can't ever let you go
You're under my skin
There's no telling where you've been
But I, oh I
Can’t get you outta my head
Can’t get you outta my head
Can’t get you outta my head
Can’t get you outta my head

“Shine”

Ballad; minimalistic.
Innocence, imperfection, devotion.
I know we’re not perfect, but I know we can make this work.

Lyrics

I believe that our love is not dead
And I know that champagne
Can still go to my head
And I say things I shouldn't have,
Do things I wouldn't have,
'Til I'm feeling blue
And you're seeing red

I didn't believe it at first
I looked down at my feet
And I feared for the worst
But you came to me carefully,
Gently you made me see,
Taught me to dance
And you lifted my curse

I never knew love until you
Till I looked in your eyes
And I knew what to do
Now I'll take all your wishes,
Fulfill them with kisses,
Darling, it's all coming true

I believe that our love is not dead
You're the breath in my laugh,
You're the voice in my head,
And you give me your colors,
Alive like no other
The deepest of blue,
The rosiest red

I know that there might come a time
When I wake from this dream
And you're no longer mine
So just know I'd give everything
, For you, dear, you're why I sing...
We'll wipe off the dust
And we'll shine

“Gaslight”

Slinky retro-rock.
Throwback, smouldering, building.
There’s no escaping me… Don’t even try.

Lyrics

You got the face of an angel
And the devil may care
Ooh, tell me what's going on in there?
With your eyes so dark
And your smile so bright
Ooh, tell me whatcha doing tonight?

Now stop right there
And get a hold of yourself
I think your affection
Is affecting your health
You're a red hot mess
With your back to the wall
So tell me why I feel like
You've got it all

With your painted nails
And your look-at-me stare
Ooh, tell me what's going on in there?
With your hands to the sky
And your face it the light
Ooh, tell me whatcha doing tonight?

Now, just sit tight
Let me give you to plan
I'll be your girl
And you'll be my man
And just wait and see
And do as I say,
In a little while you won't want it
Any other way

You got the face of an angel
And the devil may care
Ooh, tell me what's going on in there?
With your eyes so dark
And your smile so bright
Ooh, tell me whatcha doing tonight?

Now your shoulders are loose
And you're soft to the touch
I told my dear, I wasn't
Asking for much
I'm telling you girl,
I didn't like it at first
But you always get nothing
Expecting the worst...

With the face of an angel
And your look-at-me stare
Ooh, tell me what's going on in there?
With your hands to the sky
And your smile so bright
Ooh, tell me whatcha doing tonight?
(Tell me whatcha doing tonight)
Ooh, tell me whatcha doing tonight?
Ooh, tell me whatcha doing tonight?
Ooh, tell me whatcha doing tonight?

“Icebreaker”

Uptempo rock.
Punk, aggressive, energized.
You look nice, and I’m not shy… what do you say we go for it?

Lyrics

Open the window, honey baby
Let your shadow in
Tell me again, now, sugar doll
What’s crawling through your skin
Let it slide, let’s compromise
And fight those stomach butterflies
Send 'em off with natural conversation
I”ll lessen your frustration

Hello hello, hello hello, hello hello honey
Nice to meet you, don’t be shy, let’s break the ice

Did I surprise you, honey baby
I don’t know your name
Never been one for wasted silence
Hope you feel the same
Tell me what’s been troubling you
In all the ways that words can do
Come on boy, let’s hear it for the ages
Let’s keep on turning pages

Hello hello, hello hello, hello hello honey
Hello hello hello hello, go on and throw the dice
Hello hello, hello hello, hello hello honey
Nice to meet you, don’t be shy, let’s break the ice

I hope I’ve made my mark
Come on, take one in the dark
I’m throwing you a line
C'mon c'mon c'mon, just a little sign…

Open the window, honey baby
Let your shadow in
Tell me again now, sugar doll
How you want to begin
Let it slide, I’ll bat my eyes
Let’s ditch those stomach butterflies
Admit it boy, you like this conversation

“Original”

Uptempo jam rock.
Intricate, energetic, instrument-focused.
A jam-pop diss track.

Lyrics

You're an actress, baby, but you know in your heart,
That you never played a role that didn't tear me apart
You got your fingers on the pulse of what you think is the truth,
But you come across rough
When you try to be smooth,
Your act is tired, go home,
And don't you lose any sleep,
('cause) you have promises to break,
(And and you've got) secrets not to keep
Your imitation is my frustration...
You say you're something new
But you should know I see right through...
You're quick to the punch,
You're fast to the chase
But the real thing's too hard to erase
And baby you should know
You can try but you're not the original
I gotta hand it to you, honey,
But you're wasting your breath,
You take what's already working,
And you beat it to death,
You live for the hustle,
But you're running in place
You were chasing a trend
And fell behind in the race,
You color inside the lines
Like you invented the shape,
(But) You can never be a hero
Wearing someone else's cape
Your imitation is my frustration...
You say you're something new
But you should know I see right through...
You're quick to the punch,
You're fast to the chase
But the real thing's too hard to erase
And baby you should know
You can try but you're not the original
The real McCoy, original
It's in the execution
Accept no substitution
It's bona fide, no place to hide
I don't need retribution
I just want a resolution
The real McCoy, original
Don't ask for absolution
This is a revolution
(It's) all robbed, no attribution
(It's) all old, no evolution
(It's) all noise, no contribution
(It's) all problem, no solution
You say you're something new
You're quick to the punch,
You're fast to the chase
You say you're something new
But you should know I see right through...
You're quick to the punch,
You're fast to the chase
But the real thing's too hard to replace
And baby you should know
You can try but you're not the original

“Run Away” (unreleased)

Energetic pop-rock.
Motivational, alive, driving swagger.
Getting lost and finding yourself again.

Lyrics

Let's just run away, run away...
You gave an inch, they took a mile
You gave 'em hell
They took away your reason to smile
It didn't fit, it got away
You lost the words, you couldn't say
What you were trying to say...
You took a shot, you didn't get far
And for a moment you forgot who you are
But you've got a choice, you can choose
So come with me, 'cuz we've got nothing to lose
When your bones are aching
And you feel like you're lost
When your hands are shaking
You can't see what you've got
When your heart is breaking
Oh, don't you see?
Just run away with me
Let's just run away, run away
We make the rules, we draw the lines
If your hope is running low, then borrow mine
They can keep their point of view,
Truth be told, we're staying gold
There's only one thing to do...
When your bones are aching
And you feel like you're lost
When your hands are shaking
You can't see what you've got
When your heart is breaking
Oh, don't you see?
Just run away with me
When the earth is quaking
And the sun's hard to find
You're losing your voice,
And you're losing your mind
When your heart is breaking
Oh, don't you see?
Just run away...
Let’s just run away
Run away, run away run away
When your hope’s been taken
When the earth is quaking
Run away with me
When the lies, seem so real,
And the truth is fake, and
It’s getting hard to see,
When your bones are aching,
When your hands are shaking
When your heart is breaking,
It’s a chance worth taking
Sun is low, I don’t care
Say the word, and I’ll be there
This is a hunt, and we’re the prey
But we can run, we’ll run away
Run away with me...
When your bones are aching
And you feel like you're lost
When your hands are shaking
You can't see what you've got
When your heart is breaking
Oh, don't you see?
Just run away with me
When the earth is quaking
And the sun's hard to find
You're losing your voice, and your soul,
And your mind
When your heart is breaking
Oh, don't you see?
Just run away with me
Let's just run away
Are we running from something?
Are we running to nothing?
No I won't stop running...

“Weatherman”

70s easy listening vibe.
Throwback, smooth, chill.
Falling in love with someone you’ve never met.

Lyrics

I've followed you forever,
And you've known it from the start
I've tracked your steps for miles
I've listened for your heart
I've lost more than my mind
Out underneath this desert sun,
But we're finally at the crossroads
And there's nowhere left to run

Fire, brace for the storm
Fire, we’ve got this fight to keep us warm
Fire, bitter ‘till the end
Fire, I’ll keep you closer than a friend

Thunder shakes the mountain
The clouds are rolling in,
We should be taking cover
But we both just want to win
So we slowly count our paces
And prepare to take our aim
If I die in by your hand today,
At least you'll know my name...

Fire, brace for the storm
Fire, we’ve got this fight to keep us warm
Fire, bitter ‘till the end
Fire, I’ll keep you closer than a friend

The moment comes, the time is now,
I turn to you
We raise our hands to fire,
But can't bring ourselves to shoot
If one of us should fall,
Then there'd be no one left to chase
So until we meet again, my friend
I won't forget your face,
I won't forget your face...

Fire, brace for the storm
Fire, we’ve got this fight to keep us warm
Fire, bitter ‘till the end
Fire, I’ll keep you closer than a friend
Closer than a friend

“Still”

Original holiday ballad.
Serene, love-filled winter’s night.
An embodiment of the tranquil warmth of the holiday season.

Lyrics

Be still
See the snow fall softly down
Be still
Watch the cheer circle around
Feel the memories made tonight
Smiling faces shining bright
Freeze the world in crystal white
And it's still

Be still
Walk the town like it's a dream
Be still
Nothing's ever what it seems
Peppermint and gingerbread
The sweetest thing your neighbor said
Gifts are wrapped in green and red
And it's still

Be still
See the star up on the tree
Be still
This moment is for you and me
Feel the winter's beauty shine
I am yours and you are mine
Through the cold our hands entwine
And it's still
